CLOS-DE-VOUGEOT GRAND CRU 2007
“Deep ruby red with complex fruity and floral notes (rose, violet) and a subtle hint of oak on the nose. The attack is smooth with powerful tannins. This well-structured and very persistent wine is an honor to the reputation of this exceptional Grand Cru.”
It’s time we talk about it, the real reason most people in the international community dislike Merlot. Despite being a popular wine in the 1970-1990s in France and The United States of America, for some reason, it has gained a negative reputation.
There is a misconception that good wine has to have an absurdly high price tag, and anything lower than that generally means lower quality. While yes purchasing wine can be an investment, that does not mean a cheaper or a “cheap” bottle of wine isn’t worthwhile. Some would argue that a cheap bottle of wine might be better in some contexts.
